Formed in 1915, The Women’s Institute (WI) is a woman only voluntary organisation with over 220,000 members in the UK. IAM RoadSmart has now agreed a programme with The WI that establishes a long-term relationship to inspire their members to broaden existing ability and awareness levels in relation to road safety and driving and riding skills.
With the wider role of The WI as campaigners and community champions, we are confident this will impact on the visibility of our mission across all areas of the UK at a local level.
Given current restrictions the initial objectives were a Skills Priority survey (completed) and access to IAM RoadSmart’s e-learning CHOICES modules to be followed by practical on the road activity and ultimately the Advanced courses.
Groups will be kept up to date on progress through Inform as the programme is progressed.
