Every year Sheffield Advanced Motorcyclists (SAM) recognises a member who has made the greatest contribution to sustaining and promoting our Club. This year we are very pleased to SAM member John Docherty. His tireless work to help the SAM Club develop by spreading its messages about safer riding and upholding our charity’s values in improving rider safety in our region has made him a very worthy recipient.
Peter Wilde was a SAM Club member for decades. His legacy to the club was to fill an award gap in recognising, each year, members who have made the greatest effort to support our local road safety endeavours. Although this award recognises the person, in the SAM Committee’s view, who has made the most significant contribution to the club, we also recognise that each member provides the ongoing support that is so needed for us to continue our motorcycle rider safety work. So, it’s a very big thank you to John Docherty for his tireless efforts and to all our members for their efforts too.
