Haven’t we enjoyed some better weather this week? I’ve managed to get a few more miles on the Piaggio and aim to get to 600 miles by the end of next week. This will take the bike to its first service, then Janis and I are looking at places to ride.
Did you know that the SAM Club has its own merchandise page on the website? No, well you can find out all about the arrangement to produce SAM Club logoed gear in this week’s newsletter. You can show your support for YOUR club and also a local small business, by buying your caps and clothing from APrint Ltd in Rotherham.
My pet hobby horse, e-scooters, is back in the news again, with a petition for more UK Regulations, from Guide Dogs for the Blind. You see, unregulated e-scooters are causing blind and partially sighted people a lot of problems. Read the petition for yourself and decide if you want to support people with a disability in our communities.
The bike thieves have been active again. South Yorkshire Police are asking for your help in catching a couple of local scroats. When you are out and about, keep your eyes peeled for those often helmetless riders. If they are taking our bikes they are probably involved in more law breaking too.
The heatwave in India is causing an unexpected problem. Electric scooters are suddenly bursting into flames and badly injuring people. Climate change is causing a lot of problems, but setting fire to part of the possible solution isn’t going to help at all. Until next week, stay healthy and ride safe.
