SAM Weekly Newsletter – 15th October 2021

Editorial

Well here we are again, Autumn has arrived and the FREE SAM Breakfast is waiting for you to book your place. Details are in this newsletter. Saturday meetings are very popular and there are also ad hoc group rides on other days of the week. In this week’s issue, amongst other amazing articles you can read about, there is a new security lock that takes 20 minutes and 5 grinding disks to break. It could also be hidden, for those who don’t have a garage/shed, inside a new big green security box. There is a new scooter that can be charged in 90 seconds. On riding the bike, you can read about filtering and getting your knee down. There are also five skills to practice on a new bike. Mental health and motorcycles have been in the news with IAM RoadSmart partnering up with the Mental Health Motorcycles charity. A philosophical question is posed: should Vespas be called motorcycles or scooters? Hmmm. Do you know the new sign for detecting when someone is having a stroke? Update your knowledge and share with your friends. Finally, our Chairman (Steve Brown) and his wife have expanded their family with a beautiful baby girl. That makes three in their family. We send them many congratulations from all SAM members, our families and friends.

To ensure that anyone interested in SAM activities, the SAM and Survival Skills newsletters are also on the SAM website; so, everyone can read, enjoy and share. Until next week…

Stay healthy and ride safe, Ed.
