Our FREE website hosting account was renewed for another year. This means that the SAM Club does not pay anything for the server side hosting, software management and security. This is the 5th year that we have received free website hosting from 34SP.com. This has saved your Club a considerable amount of money. So, if you know a UK Registered charity, 34SP.com would like you to pass on the word about their charity support program.
There are a lot of events being organised locally. Theo’s Egg Run, which is normally supported by SAM members, is on again. Tickets are now available for the MCN Festival of Motorcycling near Peterborough. More locally Revs N Relics are having a ‘Great British Bike Day’ that could be worth a visit. An unusual event is the ‘Busa Bonanza’ at Elvington Race Track. If you fancy going further (and I would love to!) FEMA has released up-to-date information about riding abroad. Not quite abroad but the Isle of Man TT is desperate for volunteer marshals. Now that is definitely worth considering. However, if you are just feeling a little vain and fancy some bike posing, you could always stay close to home and have your snap took by BikerPics at the Cat and Fiddle.
Steve Bennett is still undertaking his epic quest to ride from Lands End to John O’Groats on a 14-year-old Piaggio MP3 400. That’s if he can get it back off Alan Yates! It’s really nice to hear that Alan is out riding again, but Steve really needs the bike. Continue to help Steve by donating (link in the newsletter).
Whilst you are all out and about, have some fun, just stop and take a snap to upload or send in for the SAM Annual Photo Competition. The entry form is set up on the website. You can upload up to 10 images, in either *.jpg or *.png format. Don’t forget to give a number and label to each photo in the text box. Our security ensures that only suitable images are uploaded and will rename the file to prevent any subsequent access to it. You can upload your entries here, or send them to sam-editor@iam-sheffield.bike. The winner will be announced at the SAM AGM in April.
